Pit Dewatering Analysis
We design effective pit-dewatering strategies using the results of field investigations and modeling analyses.
M&A provides specialized testing and groundwater modeling services to characterize and project conditions in the complex, fractured-rock hydrogeologic environment of mine pits. In addition to modeling anticipated groundwater inflows and dewatering requirements when a mine is active, we can predict post-closure conditions and the formation of pit lakes. Our local-scale models — which are calibrated to observed data and tested for sensitivity to various input parameters — may be coupled with regional models to simulate the large-scale, long-term effects of existing or proposed mining operations.
