Profile
Michele joined M&A in 2010. She brings us over 33 years of professional experience, including nearly 12 years as ADEQ's Groundwater Section Manager, where her responsibilities involved managing a variety of environmental programs and directing the development and implementation of rules and policies. She specializes in aquifer protection (APP) permitting, reclaimed water permitting, AZPDES, voluntary actions, WQARF, and CERCLA. Michele also spent 3 years developing cleanup standards for soils and groundwater. Other responsibilities at ADEQ included evaluating the adequacy of remedial actions, directing remedial investigations, and reviewing draft permits for discharges associated with power plants, mines, other industrial facilities, and wastewater treatment systems. Michele also interfaced with other regulatory agencies, including the EPA, to respond to initiatives addressing coal combustion waste, subsurface injection for carbon sequestration, and pesticide use.
